A Year of Giving by Ivy Publications Supports Area Non-Profits

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (January 2015) – Ivy Publications is pleased to announce that over the 2014 calendar year more than $50,000 in funds, time, resources and in-kind services was donated by Ivy Publications to charitable, non-profit and arts organizations in the Charlottesville community. It is our hope that through our work we can advance their missions and help provide services that make life better for fellow members of our community.

Much of the contribution was given in support of causes close to the mission of the various magazines and some recipients were designated by staff. Each staff member at Ivy Publications, as an employee benefit, can be sponsored by the company in fitness-related fundraising activities like the Women’s Four-Miler, for example. Another staff-chosen beneficiary was the Shelter for Help in Emergency, which was voted to be the recipient of a charity donation that was part of a sales-incentive contest in which employees also earned a bonus check.

The largest donation was given to support the Virginia Discovery Museum, an organization near and dear to our hearts. For the 16 years we’ve published CharlottesvilleFamily, we have enjoyed a close relationship and appreciate all that they do to educate and enrich the lives of young families regardless of income level.
